Growth

This last week was very full. Life for our church is taking on new shape and form. It's starting to stretch us and grow us. We are all feeling this shifting feeling that God does when there is change happening.

Last week was a week of many meetings and conversations. Talks between friends about where we are, where we've come from, and how far we are to move forward in these coming weeks. Growth is happening in our ministry and it is a great time in all of our lives.

This idea of growth reminds me of a conversation I had not too long back. I was talking with a friend about personal growth and change. They told me that It was difficult to keep it all in perspective and that they were getting easily overwhelmed. When this conversation happened a few weeks ago. I finally came to clarity about this whole idea.

It is something that I have wrestled with intensely as well and, what I realized was that my perspective had to change. I had to begin having a multi leveled perspective on life. I had to look back on my life daily. I had to get a good look where I was, and how far God has taken me. Then take a hard look at the right now, and decide that this is what I have to work with. I can only decide to change in the right now. Never forgetting however that I must keep the man I want to be clear in my sights to guide me in making decisions. To be that Good friend, son, brother, boyfriend, husband, team mate, leader.

Its necessary to see all these perspectives at the same time. When one gets out of balance you can become unbalanced in your growth. For instance: If I were to just focus on how far I've come I could lose sight of the future man That I want to become. I could become stagnant in my growth. If I look to the future with such intensity as to forget where I've come from I could lose sight of hope, and become overwhelmed with the massive amounts of failures still in my life.

When I finally grabbed holed of this idea. My life honestly began to change in drastic ways.
I'm now in the right state of mind for growth.
